a tardigrade's tale
Hi there, and congrats! You'll be one of the first second handful of people to ever play this little game! Try and get all six endings!
I wrote "a tardigrade's tale" within 48 hours, game jam-style, for an assignment in my intro game design class that I'd procrastinated on (not counting research and design, which I'd been picking at throughout the semester). It's an interactive fiction game made in Twine, centered around the theme "Microscopic World". Maybe it was the pressure of trying to finish, but I put out what I think is some of my funniest writing in just a few hours that weekend. I don't give myself praise easily, but I think I managed to be both hilarious and tangentially-educational with this, and for that I'm very proud.
It took me a while, but I finally got around to updating the game with illustrations and alt-text for each ending! I also made the headings and images a bit more responsive, so it should look better on mobile now. This is the version I'll be showing at East Coast Game Conference (ECGC) 2023. I don't think I'll work on it much more after this, but you never know.
I hope you'll laugh at my terrible jokes at least half as much as I did (and maybe learn some neat things about some tiny organisms)!

I lol'd when it said I was only a millimeter long! You made a fun and informative game. It's real classical edutainment, complete with good and bad endings!
I did find a grammatical error:
I think the sentence you're looking for it "There appears to be a particularly juicy group of bacteria not too far away, even for a tardigrade" or "There appears to be a particularly juicy group of bacteria not too far away, even for a tardigrade. It's close, even for a tardigrade"
Either one would make it flow a lot better, I feel.
Thank you for all the hard work you put into this game, I had a really great time getting different endings!
